As You Were #2 got a positive review in the new MRR! But, don’t worry, they did single my comic out as not so great.

It's out! It's finally out!
As always, you're free to order them directly from Silver Sprocket, but, if I may, I know a lot of you have been balking at the post office's recent shipping cost increases and how this affects your mailorder habits. SO! If you live anywhere near a major city with an even halfway cool comic book or record store or infoshop or WHATEVER, what you can and should do is give them a call, ask them to order you a copy, and you can support this zine AND a local business at the same time. If you live in the Twin Cities, call up Big Brain Comics or Extreme Noise Records. If you live in Baltimore, call up Atomic Books, if you live in Austin go ahead and choose between Austin Books & Comics or Monkeywrench Books. You follow? Don't fuck with Amazon, that's just Wal Mart on the internet, you're supposed to be above that. IF THEY ASK, you can tell them the zine is distributed through LAST GASP and REVOLVER, and they should be able to get you a copy without any shipping fees.
OVERSEAS READERS! Our UK and Germany distros should have copies of this in stock within the next couple weeks. I will come back with an update so you'll know where to go for a copy without having to fuck with crazy overseas shipping.
Folks, I really can't thank you enough for all the support and positive response this series has gotten so far. We have no plans of stopping or slowing down, I have a whole list of new contributers to invite (along with the returning cast you know and love) for #3... I'm so glad at how this whole project has turned out. Thanks!

A six-page comic I made with Amanda for AS YOU WERE #1
(which is still available and which you should definitely pick up)
Holy crap, the Onion AV Club reviewed As You Were #1! And they liked it!
Dang, Maximum Rocknroll even likes us! Scoop one up while you can!
Okay, kids, the time has come! AS YOU WERE #1 is now available to purchase online!
AS YOU WERE is a brand new punk comic anthology zine curated by Mitch Clem and featuring an array of some of the awesomest cartoonists in the scene all contributing brand new comics based on a centralized theme.
Issue one’s theme is HOUSE SHOWS, and features 72 pages of BRAND NEW COMICS from the following:
Ashley Rowe Palafox
Josh PM Frees
Nation of Amanda
Plus gorgeous cover art by Steve Larder
Makes a perfect addition to any punkhouse bathroom!
P.S. Since some people were asking, yes, this will be available in actual comic book and record stores fairly soon, but that’s all gonna take longer to set up, so it’s just online orders for right now.
Issue one of AS YOU WERE is FINALLY going to press this week. I’ll let you know when to expect them soon!

Little piece of history here, folks. Some of you who have read the, like, two interviews I’ve ever done may recall hearing that Nothing Nice to Say was actually inspired by a flyer I did for a house show I booked once a million years ago. That I’d drawn these two random characters making a stupid joke, and something in my brain clicked, A HA!, and the idea to do an ongoing series of gag strips about punk rock came to me, and I used the characters from the flyer as the main characters.
WELL. I wrote a My Stupid Life comic about this very subject for the upcoming new punk comix anthology zine I’m putting together called AS YOU WERE on this very subject, so I asked my friend Pat (who saves shit and who I knew would probably still have a copy somewhere) if he had it, and he did, and he scanned it and send it to me.
AND HERE IT IS! The very first drawing of Blake and Fletcher EVER. Blake’s shirt, by the way, in this drawing, is a work shirt with a name patch that says “Moe” in reference to the song “Hipster Boyfriend” by Sicko (“He has a gas station jacket that says his name is Moe and he hangs out at all the punk punk punk punk punk rock shows”). I think the patch appears in a couple very early NN2S strips, but was dropped quickly.
As for AS YOU WERE, I’m actually just waiting to hear back from a couple printers with some rates and then we’re ready to get it printed up and shipped out to that disgusting hovel you call a home!
But, just to tease it a little in advance, the series is going to be an anthology of never-before-seen comics written by cartoonists with a foot in the punk scene, each issue focusing on a centralized theme. The first issue is all about house shows. It’s fucking incredible, I’ve read it!
Besides myself there’s new comics in it by Andra Passen, Anthony Sorge (Crust Dog), Ashley Rowe Palafox (Barefoot and in the Kitchen), Ben Snakepit (Snakepit), Bill Pinkel (Frowning Bill), Brad Dwyer (Record Heat), Brian Connolly (Nothing Mattress), Emilja Frances (Ship of Fools), Josh PM Frees, Kim Funk (Shady Hawkins, The Homewreckers), Liz Prince (Will You Still Love Me if I Wet the Bed, Alone Forever), Liz Suburbia (Sacred Heart, Hey Suburbia!), Ramsey Everydaypants (Year One, Everyday Pants), Rick V, plus GORGEOUS cover art by Steve Larder.
We’re about to take over the whole goddamn world! More info to come, but expect this by the end of the year!
